📚 Piano Curriculum & Books

Read and Rhythm Studio

At Read and Rhythm, I use structured, beginner-friendly curriculum that helps students build a strong foundation in reading music, rhythm, and technique—while still enjoying the process.

Our Primary Method: Faber Piano Adventures

Most students begin with:

  • Primer Level (for beginners)
  • Level 1 (after foundational skills are established)

Each level includes two essential books:

beginner piano

📘 Lesson Book

This is the core of our lessons. Students learn:

  • Note reading
  • Rhythm
  • Hand position and technique
  • Simple, engaging songs

✏️ Theory Book

This book reinforces what students learn in their lesson through:

  • Writing exercises
  • Music theory activities
  • Visual learning and reinforcement

Why I Use Faber Piano Adventures

I’ve chosen this method because it works especially well for young and beginner students:

  • Engaging and fun – Songs feel musical right away (not boring or robotic)
  • Builds strong reading skills – Students learn how to read music, not just memorize
  • Technique-focused – Encourages proper hand position early on
  • Step-by-step progression – Students build confidence as they improve

It strikes a really beautiful balance between structure and creativity, which is exactly what beginners need.

🎼 Additional Materials: Alfred’s Basic Piano Library

In some cases, I may also incorporate materials from Alfred’s to:

  • Reinforce certain concepts
  • Provide extra practice
  • Introduce variety in musical styles

This allows me to tailor lessons to each student’s learning style and pace.

Final Note

I will always guide you on:

  • Any additional materials your child may need

You won’t have to guess—I’ve got you covered.
