When I first started teaching piano, I realized something quickly: children don’t fall in love with music because of perfect scales or rigid routines. They fall in love because of how it feels — the rhythm, the discovery, the joy of making sound that’s truly their own.

That’s the heartbeat behind Read and Rhythm — a space where kids learn to read music, yes, but also to feel it. I created this studio for Bay Area families who are craving something different. Parents who don’t just want piano lessons for their children — they want their kids to love the piano.

In my lessons, your child won’t just memorize songs for a recital. They’ll explore melody, rhythm, and improvisation in ways that make music come alive. One week, we might jam to a pop tune or a movie theme; another, we’ll explore storytelling through sound — all while building solid reading and performance skills.

I teach both in-person piano lessons for children in the San Francisco Bay Area and virtual piano lessons for children who want to bring that same creative energy to their home. Whether your child is shy, curious, or bursting with imagination, there’s a rhythm inside them waiting to be heard — and my goal is to help bring it out.

You’ll also find my YouTube videos and vlogs here — moments from my teaching sessions, tips for parents, and honest glimpses into the joy (and sometimes the beautiful chaos) of teaching kids music.

If you’re a parent who believes music should move your child — not just train them — welcome. You’ve found your place.

Let’s read, play, and grow in rhythm together.
